How often do you Masturbate?

Dear women of the world. How often do you masturbate? How do you feel about the subject of women’s pleasure? Do you question whether female masturbation is bad? Do you wonder if masturbation is actually good for you? Do you have the time to do it? How does it feel when you masturbate? Is masturbation supposed to make you feel guilty? Are you allowed to enjoy giving yourself sexual pleasure?
We hope you enjoy this list of 12 Good Reasons to Masturbate

Everybody knows that sex, when it’s done right, is pleasurable and leaves people feeling good. Generally speaking, sex can be more complicated for women because of our genetic wiring. We tend to be in our heads a bit more, as demonstrated by the questions at the beginning. This article is here to show you how good masturbation is for women and why we should make time for it. I am going to focus on what happens to your body when you are receiving physical pleasure, and this may help you, as a woman, to appreciate why your body has so much to gain from sexual pleasure.

Let’s start with the obvious – sex is better when the vagina is lubricated.

Women’s bodies are all different – some can get wet at the slightest touch, whilst for others, no matter how turned on they are or how much they want it, find it difficult to lubricate. I always recommend using lubricant whilst masturbating, because the moment the lube is on your vulva, everything is slippy and slidey which makes it immediately easier to navigate the beautiful network of the vulva. It may become more difficult to get turned on when you’re on your own, and lube definitely helps you get started. There isn’t much joy to be had in massaging dry genitals!

Your Capacity to Self-Lubricate

Women’s capacity to self-lubricate is often based on what time of the month it is, what your mood is like, how much sleep you have, your age and what kind of food you eat. Don’t ever assume that just because you’re not ‘wet’, it doesn’t mean that you’re not in the mood.

The irony behind my above statement is that it actually takes 40 minutes for a woman to become fully aroused, so actually, it is quite common for women to start masturbation or sex without feeling aroused, but in time, it is the continued physical touch that will create the desire in you. That is why foreplay is so important for women. It’s a bit chicken and egg. Why would you masturbate if you’re not in the mood, but why aren’t you always wet when you’re feeling turned on? Hopefully, I have just answered the second question – it is dependent on so many different factors.

Good Reasons to Masturbate

As for the first question – ‘why should I masturbate if I’m not in the mood?’ Here is a lovely long list of the reasons why you should masturbate more, even if you’re not in the mood.

When you masturbate:

  1. You release endorphins, which are the neurotransmitters associated with feeling happy. Do you know what happens when you release more endorphins more regularly? It improves your general mood and helps fights off depression
  2. You also produce oxytocin, which is another happy chemical reaction from your body. Oxytocin is a natural pain reliever, which reduces headaches and muscle aches.
  3. It relieves stress and tension – something a lot of women may be familiar with, as it is a good tool for sending oneself to sleep! You could compare it to yoga – it is the act of tensing up and then releasing, like meditation.
  4. It also gets increases your heart rate, which makes it an aerobic workout
  5. Not only does it give you a cardio work out, but it works the tone in your muscles around your stomach, bum and legs, a bit like pilates.
  6. Because of the last 2 points, it can help you start your day with more energy, even if that is the thing that sent you to sleep the night before!
  7. It combats pre-menstrual tension and other physical conditions associated with the menstrual cycle, such as cramps.
  8. It relieves painful menstruation by increasing blood flow to the pelvic region; which will also reduce pelvic cramping and related backaches.
  9. It even builds resistance to yeast infections.
  10. Studies recently have shown that there has been a positive correlation between masturbation and Restless Leg Syndrome. Look at the medical journal Sleep Medicine for yourself!
  11. Another important muscle (in this context) that it exercises your Pelvic Floor. Not only is a strong pelvic floor generally a good thing to have (less peeing from coughing and sneezing!). You also have more control over your orgasm when you have stronger PC muscles.
  12. Not only does masturbation contribute to your overall health, but it also helps improve your immune system. Amazing!

Now that you know all about the health benefits, I want to also remind you that the clitoris, with its 15,000 nerve endings, only has one function – to give you pleasure. What a fantastic gift to be given! If that is the only function there is to it, you may as well get use out of it. Use your clitoris as a gateway to better health, it really is something special, which shouldn’t be wasted. You literally have a dozen good reasons to masturbate more, so get to it!
