As we’ve all no doubt experienced, every facet of our everyday lives is becoming more global. Surveys have estimated that 1 in 7 relationships is conducted over a long distance. Our own study found that, among 1000 respondents, 64% had been in or were currently in a long-distance relationship. In short, the global economy is actually beginning to significantly affect the way we have relationships.
Sexuality and Long Distance
Most people agree that a key part of a relationship is sex. In fact, according to the in-house study I referenced above, 73% of people consider sex “essential” or “important” in their lives. But where does that leave you if your partner is thousands of miles away?
Many people turn to video chatting to ease their loneliness and see their lover’s face again. About 48% of those polled in our survey talked to their partner daily or several times per week using Skype or a similar video-based chat service. Does this often translate into cybersex? Maybe.
Could innovative sex devices be a solution for long distance intimacy? Over 30% of respondents said Yes.
Teledildonics for Long Distance
Perhaps surprisingly, 74% of people said they were “neutral” to “very positive” about the idea of cybersex. It’s come a long way since the days of typing, “wut wld u do nxt?” into your MSN chat window. Now, we have text, WhatsApp, FaceTime, Snapchat… There are so many ways to connect and get a little dirty.
So, what’s next? Clearly, we feel that the future belongs to Teledildonics. Feeling your partner from miles away is a dream come true for many people in long-distance relationships. We want to bring Teledildonic couples toys to every bedroom.
