How to Look Sexy on Video Chat
Have you ever logged into a video chat only to find yourself thinking, “Damn, do I always look like this?”
Webcams, particularly those that come built into your PC or Mac, tend to be low to mid-range in quality. They don’t usually shoot well in poor lighting and can make even the hottest among us look a little zombified.
Luckily, we’ve got you covered with some of our top tips for looking hot on camera.
1. Take a tip from Tyra and know your angles.
For example, I have a shallow chin and a round face. When I’m shot from below, I look about 15 pounds heavier and a bit like an earthworm.
Therefore, I always tilt my screen so that my camera is facing directly at me, or slightly down. Most people look a bit better shot ever so slightly from above, but be careful not to veer into Myspace angles.
2. As any pro photographer knows, lighting is key.
If you’re regularly video chatting with your beloved, it might be worth your while to invest in an extra floor or desk lamp.
As for bulbs, look for something marked “natural”, incandescent, or with a blush tint. These tend to be flattering for all skin tones and will help offset the blue-toned glow that your computer gives off.
3. Make sure you wear comfortable clothing.
Preferably clothing that photographs well. If you’re not comfortable, you’ll fidget, and then you won’t be able to enjoy your chat.
As for colors, black can sometimes be too harsh, but charcoal grey, navy, and darker jewel tones typically look nice. If you’re going to strip for your partner, pay attention to how easily your clothes come off. It would be cute in a romcom if a person fell out of their chair while taking off their shirt, but in real life, it’s painful.
4. This part is optional, but I suggest learning how to use concealer.
I know, I know, it’s not traditionally masculine, and women shouldn’t need makeup to feel beautiful.
But the truth is, webcams can make you look sallow, and they can make any blemishes appear more prominent because of the contrast they frequently provide.
For this reason, I recommend you become familiar with concealer, and how to use it believable. I like L’Oreal and NYX for drugstore brands, and YSL Touché Eclát is brilliant for dark undereye circles. Dot on a conservative amount, then tap with your fingers to blend. Don’t rub.
5. If you wear makeup regularly, overdo it a little for the camera.
For the same reason that celebs often sport a full face on the red carpet, you may want to be a little heavy-handed before you cam.
A friend of mine recommends extra highlighter on your cheekbones, under your eyes, on the bridge of your knows, and just below the arch of your brows. I like to use just a little more blush than usual, to help give my face some dimension.
6. Last, but not least, relax.
You’re probably on video chat to see someone you care about. Ultimately, looking perfect isn’t the important part.
They’ll be so glad to see your face, it won’t matter if you’re immaculately lit and perfectly made up.
And finally, we have some good news. We designed the KIIROO platform to be not only safe and secure but also flattering. By being very particular about video call quality, we can ensure that you look your best while enjoying your KIIROO couples toys.
