Alice Bonasio, a tech trends writer, authored the article, exploring where virtual reality is headed in 2017.
During the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo that took place over the weekend of 18-21 January 2017, a lot of the focus was on VR. At the AVN Awards, that same weekend, two new event categories were added. “Best Virtual Reality Sex Scene” and “Best Virtual Reality Innovation/Site” – focusing on the VR aspect of the industry. CEO of AVN, Tony Rios mentioned that VR has been responded to phenomenally by the industry. And, although it is still new in the sector, it is here to stay.
Industry leaders from the VR and teledildonics space were interviewed for this article. This includes, but is not limited to Chief Information Officer of Naughty America, Ian Paul, and CAM4VR Co-founder Ela Darling.
During 2017 companies such as Naughty America and CAM4VR plan to offer integrated support for smart services toys. Companies such as Kiiroo offer haptic feedback to sync to the videos. Plans to integrate voice-to-voice capabilities are in the works; eventually, viewers will be able to chat directly to the performers. Thus, making these experiences a lot more immersive and more personalized for the viewers.
Other sites such as CamSoda who have already implemented Kiiroo’s teledildonics into their site have gone one step further. CamSoda has started experimenting with 3D Holograms and the OhRoma that uses a sensory mask. By adding smell into the already immersive VR, they will be taking the experience to the next level.
The article interviews more thought leaders in the VR and teledildonics industries; these include AliceX, WankzVR, and Terpon. If you would like to find out more about the future of VR and teledildonics, click here to read the entire article.
