Quest for the Perfect Vibrator

This July and August Kiiroo will be running a series of Guest Blogs written by prominent #Sex #Sexuality and #SexTech enthusiasts.

In this third installment we feature Jillian Boyd’s fantasy of Creating the Ultimate Vibrator.
All opinions expressed are solely those of the author and may or may not reflect Kiiroo’s vision and moral stance.
Enjoy!

Whenever I want to understand something better, I tend to write about it. It’s the reason my blog came into existence: I wanted to understand my sexual evolution better, so I created a blog to log what I was feeling and thinking. It has unearthed a world that I didn’t realize existed, and I continue to be fascinated by my discoveries.

I don’t often write about sex toys. I’m not a sex toy reviewer, nor am I a frequent user. But I am fascinated by sex toys, especially the ones that actually do something new and not just promise it (KIIROO being a perfect example of a fascinating sex toy concept).

And it has made me think. The reason I don’t often use sex toys is that, although they are a brilliant invention in themselves, there aren’t a lot of sex toys that hit the spot for me. A number of factors are in play here, factors that vary from toy to toy, but usually come down to the same basic things (vibrations aren’t effective enough, the toy does not sit well inside my vagina, my clitoris isn’t properly stimulated, etc…).

I got to thinking. I would like to understand what I need in a sex toy. I would like to understand what – if I had unlimited resources available – my ideal sex toy would be.

So, I’m going to have an on-the-page brainstorm, right here and right now. If I had unlimited resources available, here’s what my ideal sex toy would probably be like.

It would be adjustable

One problem I keep not just hearing about, but experiencing myself, is that certain toys – specifically the ones designed for both clitoral and vaginal stimulation – seem to have been made with the mindset that the clitoris and G-spot are all in the same place with everyone. The ends that are meant to stimulate these spots will often times not even reach them.

My ideal sex toy would be adjustable, made from body-safe and flexible materials. Preferably, the toy would be able to retain the shape you bend it in, allowing you to customize it to your anatomy.

The controls would be simple

A problem that I sometimes encounter is with the controls of a toy. If I’m trying to find just the right speed or pattern, the last thing I want to do is fiddle with a button combination and maybe accidentally turn it off when what I need is to ramp up the vibrations.

On this ideal sex toy, the controls would be simple. They would not be on the bottom of the vibrator, or – God forbid – on the shaft, leading you to have to interrupt yourself in order to press the buttons. A simple on/off button, a button for patterns and speeds and plus and minus buttons to increase and decrease what you’re feeling.

The vibrations would be quiet

This speaks for itself, really.

A variety of color ways

When it comes to colour ways and sex toys, I would like to see variation – and not just variations of pink. I would love my ideal sex toy to be in a shade like a peacock blue or bright yellow.

Would allow for couples’ play

One of the things that appeals about KIIROO is that it is designed for couples. My ideal sex toy would be easy to use and comfortable to use for partner play – and hopefully, this toy would be designed for couples of all sexual orientations to enjoy.

Easy to charge, easy to store without getting lint and fluff on it

Again, speaks for itself.

This may seem like I’m being fussy. But at the end of the day, sex toy users have every right to be. We are paying for the toy to satisfy whichever need it was bought for, and we deserve to have comfort knowing that the toy can do that. We deserve our money’s worth. I may never get the chance to own this ideal sex toy I have just described, but having written about it and imagined it, I now certainly understand factors that would make me want to invest in a toy which can present me with at least one or two of them.
